The author analyzes the steps Boeing took to regain their industry status in light of recent competition. Because Boeing was willing to thoroughly analyze both their manufacturing process and that of their competitors the company was successful in coming up with workable alternatives including computerization and the standardization of parts which allowed them to order preassempled parts and to greatly cut both costs and manufacturing time.
