Comparing Artists Joseph Beuys and Andy Warhol
[ send me this paper ]
This is a 6 page paper comparing and contrasting the works and politics of the artists Joseph Beuys and Andy Warhol. Artists Joseph Beuys and Andy Warhol lived and worked basically at the same time from the 1920s to the 1980s. Beuys, who grew up fairly conservatively, served in the war and held an academic position, expressed a great deal of warmth and hope in his art works which was also reflected in his political and philosophical outlook on life. He believed that all humans were students of life and it was their obligation to use their creativity throughout their disciplines to integrate the ideals of all cultures. Throughout his lifetime he was the founder of several activist groups designed to allow for a more open-minded society. His convictions to freedom of education were often at his own expense as he sacrificed a great deal for his activism. Warhol was known as one of the most influential commercial and pop culture artists of his time. His outlook on life and the human race was somewhat more grim than Beuys’ however as he believed that modern culture should and does act like a machine. He stressed that he was superficial along with the rest of society and used his celebrity to further his career mostly in the art, film, music and television industries. He did however use some of his exhibitions to display some of what he considered to be disasters of the twentieth century but most of his activism was through his art and not through outward causes like Beuys.

Creativity And Intelligence: Positive Correlation
[ send me this paper ]
9 pages in length. The separation between intelligence and creativity has long been considered quite vast, inasmuch as the two divergent applications do not typically intersect at any junction: One is intellectually adept or creatively talented, not both. This theory, however, has been somewhat shattered of late by contemporary ideology that claims there can be at least one intersection between the two otherwise different elements. Cultural Industries
[ send me this paper ]
This is a 9 page paper discussing cultural industries and their importance. Cultural or culture industries are considered those within a region or country which are based on the creative, cultural, and popular markets of books, magazines, films, videos, multimedia and other products which are distributed on a worldwide basis. Cultural industries not only highlight the cultural diversity of a country but also are considerably important in the economy of each country as well. Since globalization and the deregulation of many restrictive policies, the distribution opportunities available for cultural industries has increased dramatically over the past decade and also expanded to include a shift in industry with more multimedia and electronic-based products. Because of globalization however, many regions fear that their cultural industries are threatened by conglomerates and has resulted in the formation of several organizations which focus on the development, maintenance, and protection of cultural industries.
