Artifacts and documents play a critical role in the ability to recall the past; if it were not for historical objects, man would be ill-equipped to piece together his chronology as a species. The American Institute of Conservation (AIC) exists for the sole purpose of recovering, collecting, repairing and preserving relics from ago as a means by which to keep the past alive.
