Terminating a General Contractor's Contract

A 7 page paper discussing changes in the American Institute of Architects' (AIA) model contract documents A201 and B141, which make greater allowances for terminating a general contractor than did their predecessors. The recent changes in the AIA's model contract documents do give the owner greater control. A general contractor can be terminated as a matter of choice or even whim, but the owner cannot take such action without incurring any costs at all.
