[ send me this paper ]
5 pages in length. Laura is a twenty-four-year-old Caucasian woman who is divorced with three young children. Her ex-husband Josh, who works in a mill in Josephine County, Oregon, has dutifully maintained his child support payments; however, Laura is very upset because it is not enough to support both her and her children. She has a high school education yet has not been able to find full time work, which she significantly attributes to her lack of any pertinent skills. It has come to the point where she must receive food stamps in order to feed her children, which upsets her even more, because she feels it is all her fault that she is in this situation. Clearly, that is not the case, inasmuch as the overwhelming social forces and cultural influences have served to involuntarily shape her life to the exclusion of her own choices.
